Camp Verde, the closest town to the geographic center of Arizona and the oldest community in the Verde Valley, was established in 1865. Camp Verde covers 43 square miles and has a population of more than 10,000 citizens. In Camp Verde, you'll find a great location for horse ranches or riverfront properties. Canoe and kayak enthusiasts will enjoy navigating the Verde River, and are often joined by bird watchers from around the world.
New to Camp Verde is the OUT OF AFRICA WILDLIFE PARK.
Home to over 400 animals, the park offers safari and walking tours through 104 acres of beautiful open land at the base of the Mingus Mountain range. Sunday feeding time is my personal favorite.
Also popular with the Verde Valley residents, are the road side farms that offer fresh fruits, pecans, and vegetables during summer harvest.
